#198 Metalheads what a month it’s been!

Tool have come to streaming. Slipknot are releasing their album on Friday. Korn are back. The new blood in metalcore and heavier are soaring high (Northlane, Blood Youth, Resolve, Wage War, Bury Tomorrow….) and festivals are Rammstein are rocking up to Wales next year as well as Coventry. Who knows where else!

Three New Tunes Not To Miss

Foals have woken us all up on their new single. “Black Bull” has been teased a few times live, but I’m pleasantly surprised it’s this chaotic!

TheCityIsOurs is a newer name for me, despite originating from London-town. Metalcore fans will be on board, but even those who are partial to be a bit of melodic hard rock should definitely get involved.

Black Futures are ramping up to their debut album release at the end of the month with a last single “Body & Soul”. Another opportunity to have a cool music video too.

Album Review

Dead Nature – Taking My Shadow

Dead Nature is the new project of Tarek Musa formerly of Spring King. A new single teased us at the beginning of summer, but this EP is fairly thoughtful, with some very personal themes behind the lyrics, particularly with “Rookwood” which was written about a childhood house of Tarek’s. For Spring King fans and new curious indie / rock fans this is a great introduction to a very accomplished artist / producer whose future could be as big as he wants it to be.

Top track: Fire In Your Soul: In terms of BIG sounds (and you know I’m all for a bit of an adrenaline rush), this is the track to begin with. Luckily, for the purposes of this post, it’s also track 1, taking you on a melodic journey into the world of Dead Nature.

Audio Catch

A bit of a guilty pleasure but one I think a lot of you would dip into or – a Nirvana mega-fan or curious listener can join Adam, Andy and Travis as they delve into various subjects and particulars around the bands past musically and off-screen.

Amazing Radio – Alternative playtime has begun

And join me and my actual voice on Amazing Radio Wednesday 14th August! After a packed previous show I’m back in with a strong selection from Amazing Tunes,Β  a fresh Plugged In (Track of The Week) and more!
