As festival season in the UK kicks in, all the bangers are being released and getting ready to be screamed at full volume across fields and halls around the UK and beyond. Here’s a taster to get you going…
Three New Tunes Not To Miss
It might have similar opening beats of Drake ‘One Dance’ but it’s actually the lead track from Siamese‘s album Super Human. “Give Me Up” is a great power-up rock tune.
It’s been WAY TO LONG then I care to mention (7 years), but thankfully those cheeky Swedes The Hives are back in our lives with “I’m Alive”.
And Strange Bones, a rather fiesty rock outfit originating from Blackpool are readying for their Blitz EP with this adrenaline powered beast.
The Amazons – Future Dust
Reading’s finest are back with album #2. The tough return which, from my ears perspective, is them doing exactly what they do best…writing brilliant rock music of our time. They managed it two years ago with their debut which was partnered with their various accolades for being something refreshingly brilliant in the UK music scene. They are a confident, business-minded, yet creatively affluent group of gents who are truly solidifying themselves as part of UK music history. From the anthem that is “Mother” to “Fuzzy Tree” with it’s ‘bust a move’ jams to ‘wave your lighters in the air’ “All Over Town”.
Top track: “Dark Visions“. I could just say it has a cowbell, (which it does) and that will be enough for some. But it’s a real booty shaking moment on the album, which some beautifully charged riffs and melodies and some gorgeous chorus harmonies.
Not strictly music and more of a pop culture thing, Talkhouse partners some well-matched creatives and gets them together to talk about things they really know a lot about. From actress Karen Gillan x James Roday talking film to Merill Garbus x Meghan Remy talking about going on tour together, it’s just real talk, but not as we know it.
Amazing Radio – Alternative playtime has begun
And join me and my actual voice on Amazing Radio Wednesday 5th June from 7pm for loads of the best new noisy music of now, The Hang Out with Dinosaur Pile-Up, a brand new Plugged In (tune of the week) and more.
