#140 Sometimes, life just doesn’t add up

Sad news this morning with the passing of 5 men that I had the pleasure of meeting and working with earlier this year at Reading Festival – emerging talent Viola Beach and their manager Craig Tarry. All top blokes.  Hearing this track for me was one of those ‘wow’ moments when a debut track from an act really is something special, undeniable and exciting.

DZ Deathrays have returned from their home festival season with more rad rock tunes that give me the Blood Red Shoes vibes and thoroughly suggest they need at least another body in the band to bring out the true audio colour these songs deserve live. “Blood On My Leather” is  fine number!

Melbourne rockers Harbours are bringing great post-hardcore back to the table with their latest “Take Me Under”. Discovered via Triple J Unearthed, it’ll be interesting to see how far this band travels around the globe.

And leaving you with Manchester starlets Spring King, who are are back with another indie rocking booty shaking hit “Rectifier”. Following on from their spread of instant indie loves and now signed to a major, this is going to be a great year for the band – I can’t wait to see this one live!
