#2 Velociraptor’s new album, plus other global gems

Really happy to hear this in full! Aussie band Velociraptor are streaming their mini LP in full here.

Taking influence from The Vines, scuzzy bluesy rock in general and adding some Brisbane glamour it’s a great listen in this Indian summer. My favourite (video too!) is still Riot though by far!

Big news for Queens Of The Stone Age fans too! Josh Homme and friends are writing the next QOTSA album and one-half of Eagles Of Death Metal and Josh’s best mate Jesse Hughs said it’s sounding ‘badass’. Badass = awesome in my book. Can’t wait!

The favourite new find of the week is Deptford Goth.  A rather enigmatic but rather beautiful sounding musician.  Debut LP due early 2013, but here’s the brand new single ‘Life After Defo’.

And last but not least, might be 3 months away, but the Vans Warped Tour is coming! Not that I have any hope of  dictating their setlist, but if Bury Tomorrow could play ‘Lionheart’ that would be swell 🙂

Remember to tune in Thursday from 10pm on DIY Radio for Alive And Amplified. All the best from the alternative music scene straight to your ears!
